In many refrigerators, there is a so-called “freshness zone”. This zone can be both dry and wet, the temperature in it is 0 degrees. The most important thing is to choose the right zone for storing certain ingredients. For example, vegetables are better placed in the wet zone, and meat or dairy products – are in the dry zone.

In the humid zone, your products will be stored as if you have recently bought them at the market. Indeed, due to the zero temperature in this zone, all the useful vitamins and taste of the products are preserved.

In the dry zone you can keep meat or poultry throughout the week, and fish and seafood even longer. The temperature in the dry zone is no more than 0 ° C, and the humidity is 50%.

If there is a specified temperature in the fresh zone, you can easily cool champagne or vodka there. Beer or natural juices in such a zone is better not to put because their storage requires a temperature much higher.

Thus, in the zero zones, you can store the following products

– vegetables, fruits (except tropical), and greens

– meat and fish;

– dairy products;

– sausage and various semi-finished products.

In the freezer, the temperature varies from -6 to -24 degrees. The normal temperature value for this compartment is -18 degrees. But, in some refrigerators, there may be modes of operation of the freezer, which are indicated by asterisks, each of which means a decrease in temperature by another -6 degrees. The shelf life will depend, first of all, on the stored products themselves and on the selected temperature in the chamber. That is, the temperature in this compartment should be selected by the user individually.

In other compartments, the normal temperature is from +3 to +6 degrees. This is the most optimal temperature for soups and other dishes.

Rules of operation of refrigeration equipment:

– All products must be well packed. Thanks to the sealed packaging, bacteria will not get into the food, and it will not spread its smells throughout the chamber.

– The refrigerator door must close well, otherwise, the temperature in the chamber will decrease.

– Do not overload the refrigeration unit.

– Do not put hot and even slightly warm containers with cooked food in the refrigerator. It is necessary to wait for their complete cooling.

If you follow all the rules for using the refrigeration unit and storing food in the appropriate areas, you can preserve the nutrients in your food for a long time.
