Users of Bosch dishwashers often encounter a situation where the “tap” indicator on the dishwasher control panel is lit. If the “tap” lights up only when the water is drawn, and the Bosch dishwasher is running normally, then you should not worry, the “tap” indicator means that the Bosch dishwasher is drawing water.
It is quite another matter when the flashing “tap” is accompanied by malfunctions. This is what users of Bosch dishwashers complain to us in such a situation:
The machine does not draw water, the “faucet” indicator blinks, and dishwashing does not start.
The dishwasher periodically fails to complete the program and the “tap” icon lights up.
Bosch with a display shows an error on the screen and the “faucet” indicator lights up or flashes. Most often, the flashing indicator is accompanied by errors E15, E24, and E25. In Bosch dishwashers without a display, in addition to the “tap”, other indicators may also light up.
Possible faults
The “tap” image accompanies many Bosch dishwasher breakdowns. Based on our own experience, we have ranked the most common of them.
Leakage
The internal connections of the water drain and circulation paths, the washing tank cup seal, and the door rubber band are leaking. Water enters the Bosch dishwasher tray, and the Aquastop leak protection activates.
The drain pump is out of order
The pump impeller broke mechanically due to food, foreign objects, or the pump motor being burned out. In the first case, the pump hums, but the machine does not drain. If the pump motor has burned out, the pump does not work at all.
The drain pump is clogged.
Remains of food or foreign objects, missed by the filters, block the rotation of the pump impeller, and the water does not drain.
The water supply valve is defective
The solenoid coil is burned out, so the valve membrane will not open and water will not be drawn in.
The water flow sensor has failed
The flow meter measures the pressure of the water with which the circulation pump presses it into the sprinklers. If the sensor is defective, the dishwasher stops washing or does not start washing.
The circulation pump is broken
It creates pressure to wash the dishes. When the pump fails, the machine does not wash the dishes. The main causes of failure are natural wear and tear or foreign objects in the pump.
The circulation pump is clogged
It is clogged with food debris or foreign objects that have slipped through the dishwasher filters.
The drain hose is clogged
It is clogged with food debris or other small objects that have passed through the cleaning filters.
Control module defective
Circuits are oxidized, burned out, or radio elements in the water valve, drain pump, circulation pump, or flow sensor circuit board are burned out.
Damaged wiring
Damaged wiring. From control box to fill valve, drain pump, circulation pump, or flow sensor.
Pressostat defective
Pressostat defective. The level sensor is stuck in the “full tank” position, therefore dishwasher will not draw water.
The heat exchanger is clogged.
The heat exchanger in a dishwasher performs several functions: saves energy, protects ceramic dishes from cracks, reduces temperature differences, and improves the quality of drying dishes (condensation settles on the wall of the dishwasher, near which the heat exchanger is located because after the final rinse it receives cold water).
When the heat exchanger is clogged, the dishwasher cannot draw water and produces a “tap” error.
