Using the drain hose

This is the easiest and extremely fast way to free the washing tank from water. However, it is suitable if the filter of the drain system and the drain hose is not clogged. Most often it is necessary to do so, if the pump is broken, pushing water into the sewer.

According to the described technique, the drain hose, attached to the back of the unit, should be unscrewed from its intended opening and simply put on the floor, previously covered with rags, i.e. placed at the lowest level.

If water comes out of the hose, you must immediately get it into a nearby container. Anything that has spilled past should be removed immediately, without waiting for the arrival of the indignant neighbors from the apartment below you. After freeing the machine from water, it is necessary to clean the filter of the drain hose and screw it back into the hole on the back of the device.

Note that the method described in this example is not suitable for all machines. In a number of modifications from Siemens and Bosch, part of the drain channel is arranged in the form of a loop located inside the housing.

Thanks to this design solution, there is no spontaneous water drainage during operation, but it is impossible to empty the tank using the described method.

In order not to waste effort, it is better to look in advance at the passport and technical documentation, attached to the home equipment. If this design feature is present, it is necessary to choose another method for draining.

Drainage through the drainage nozzle

The execution of the forced version of the drain through the spigot will require radical measures with the disassembly of the machine.

To resort to this method without obvious reasons is not worth it. It is suitable if all the above methods did not end with the expected result. In addition, its implementation requires the application of male hands.

How to determine that the washing machine will need to be disassembled? A typical sign is the complete absence of water in the drain hole after removing the filter device with a grid. This means that the internal channel diverting water to the drain hole is clogged.

The sequence of actions in case of draining through the spigot:

Remove the back or front panel of the washing machine, having previously unscrewed the fasteners, and put it in a suitable box or a plastic cup.

We find the drain spigot. It is located under the tank, inside which the drum rotates.

Put some flat containers under the area under the branch pipe, the area around it is covered with rags for the immediate collection of spilled water.

Disconnect the clamp, which connects the branch pipe to the pump of the drainage system, and remove the branch pipe, after which the water should gush out. Quickly collect it and pour it into the sewer.

Clean the branch pipe and its adjoining channel with just a finger, pencil, or similar object.

Having finished draining and cleaning the branch pipe, install the parts of the machine in their proper place, screwing with effort, remembering that everything should be as tightly connected as possible.

If when performing cleaning it is found that the debris and fibers clogged the drain pump, gently unscrew the pump cover and clean it from the interfering impurities.

At the same time clean the drain pump threads and the inside of the housing. Check how the impeller rotates. If it rotates freely, reassemble the system in the reverse order, if it is difficult to rotate, clean the junction of the impeller with the motor of the device.
