The ice generator for the refrigerator is designed for the quick production of ice cubes. Such a device is very safe and made of quality materials. Its functionality and size depend primarily on the model of the refrigerator itself.

Manufacturers of household appliances recommend installing generators on the vertical part of the water supply line. The point of connection with the main should be no higher than 12 cm from the floor. The length of the tube should be such that when cleaning, the refrigerator can be easily moved away from the wall. After you have first switched on and tested the generator, it is better to throw away the first portion of ice cubes, as there may be contamination.

After connecting the generator to the water supply line, the refrigerating chamber can be moved closer to the wall. The design of the generator includes a thermostat that measures the temperature of the ice container. The generator is placed in the freezer, so its operation depends on the temperature in this chamber. If the temperature is very low, the ice will be produced faster. If the temperature in the ice tray reaches -8.3 C, the thermostat closes the heater and motor circuits. The motor is needed to drive the comb that removes the ice, and the heater heats the tray from below so that the ice cubes can separate. It takes about 3-5 minutes to remove the ice from the tray. The comb moves the finished ice into the hopper, and the lever makes a revolution during each ice-making process.

If there are any malfunctions and you need to repair the ice maker, you need to dismantle it. To do this, unscrew the screw with which the generator is attached to the wall of the freezer, remove all the wires and remove the generator. As a rule, when ice generators break down, it is necessary to replace their thermostat. Breakdowns can also occur due to insufficiently filled trays with water. In this case, you need to replace the valve for the water supply, which is located at the bottom of the refrigerator.
