Washing is designed to give things cleanliness, but sometimes its result is disappointing. The situation when the washing machine stains the laundry is familiar to many people. You put clothes or shoes in a normal, dirty, but no stains, and pulled out of the machine stained shirts, T-shirts, jeans, sneakers, or sneakers.

Experienced hostesses can make a whole list of laundry stain colors from the washing machine:
– Rusty, brown, red, orange, yellow;
– dark oil stains, black stains, gray stains;
– yellow on white things;
– blues, blues, purples, blues;
– pink, red, blue, etc. (to match the color of bright washed clothes);
– whitened stains or white streaks.
There are different reasons why the washing machine stains things. And in 70% of cases, according to the statistics of our workshop, it is not her fault. Let’s figure out what causes stains to appear on clothes or shoes after washing.

When the washing machine has nothing to do
The quality of washing is influenced not only by the machine but also by the powder, its dosage, the selected mode, the weight of the laundry, it’s proper sorting before loading into the washer. Sometimes housewives are in a hurry or forget how to wash this or that clothing or shoes. As a result, stains remain on things after washing. We have collected the main types of stains, the reasons why they occur, and ways to fix the problems.

Things have faded
Brightly colored fabrics are often shed when washed, especially if the water temperature is high. If you put things of different colors together, the light-colored ones can be covered with stains from brightly colored fabrics. Most often, red and blue fabrics stain their “neighbors,” especially if the bright items are new and washed for the first time. For example, new jeans, actively leave blue stains on other things after washing together.

How to avoid such a problem?
Wash items of the same color or close shades together. Or put colored and dark things together, which will not stain.
If you wash colored items together with light-colored laundry, then choose a program with a temperature no higher than 40 ° C.

Rusty water in the pipes
If the water is heavily stained with rust, yellow-brown stains may remain on light-colored items. Rust appears either in old pipes or after the repair of the lines when the water was turned off. When turned back on, dark brown water sometimes comes out of the faucet, which must be drained before you can use it. If the machine was on a delayed start and started on such dirty water, then after washing you will find rusty stains on things.

How to avoid such a problem?
If the problem is regular, then install a filter on the cold water line. In older homes, it is recommended to put two types of filters – coarse and fine.

Rusty dryer
Stains can appear not only when washing, but also during drying. Especially on things that are dried and unfolded.

How to avoid such a problem?
Replace the dryer with a new one.

Color corrector in the white laundry detergent (chemical or optical bleach)
It masks yellowing by settling on stains and makes things visually whiter. But when there is no yellowing, the corrector colors white laundry purple or bluish. If you “overdo” with the powder or choose the wrong temperature, the color corrector granules do not dissolve well, and spots of the corresponding shade appear.
A striking example of such a corrector is the blue granules in the powder, similar in composition to blue. They enhance the effect of whiteness, but when poorly dissolved, they leave blue stains on things.

How to avoid this problem?
Choose a powder without a color corrector.

Too much powder
The amount of detergent must be appropriate for the weight and degree of soiling of the clothes to be washed. If there is more powder than necessary, it does not rinse out completely and leaves white stains. For example, jeans are often covered with whitened stains after such a wash.

How to avoid such a problem?
Observe the dosage of detergent.

The washing machine is overloaded with laundry
As a result, in the process of rinsing, the powder remains in the folds, where the water does not get in due to the dense tamping of laundry, and after washing, white stains remain, especially noticeable on black things.

How to avoid such a problem?
Do not overload the washing machine.

Traces of grease left behind.
Cooking or cosmetic oils, getting on clothes, sometimes leave faint stains, but after washing they become brighter and more noticeable. Grease on white fabrics “shows up” from contact with hot water in the form of yellow stains.

How to avoid such a problem?
Soak grease-stained items before you wash them. For larger stains use special grease removers. Add detergent enhancers (bleach), and use a bio-powder with enzymes that work well to remove grease stains.

Inappropriate laundry detergent
Ordinary powders and liquid detergents are not suitable for silk, wool, membrane fabrics, or outerwear with fillings. Powders do not rinse out well and leave stains or streaks. In addition, silk and wool garments can fade and shrink when using such products.

How to avoid this problem?
Use specific products and the right wash cycle and the correct temperature as shown on the label. We recommend washing wool and silk on a spin-free cycle unless there is a special wash for delicate garments.

Outerwear should be washed with products for fluff or delicate fabrics.

An extra rinse is required (for down jackets and jackets)
White stains on a jacket or down jacket after washing remain even from special means because down or synthetic is poorly rinsed in 1-2 times.

How to avoid such a problem?
Additionally, rinse at least twice. And also dry in the mode recommended by the manufacturer and indicated on the label of the clothes.

Items are accidentally soiled after being removed from the washer-dryer drum
For example, while drying. Rarely, but it happens that things get dirty with children’s dirty hands. Or the hostess herself, when she takes the laundry out of the washer. The culprits are also pets, trampling with their paws on the drying clothes.

How to avoid this problem?
– Wash your hands after cooking or putting on makeup before you take the laundry out of the machine.
– Keep an eye on your young and four-legged helpers so they don’t touch dry clothes.
